Focal Point Newsletter – August 29, 2017

We’re Excited About Our New Website!

Check out our new website… www.Focustele.com

We have new colors, new information, and a new vibe. The old website was pretty good, but after 10 years, it was tired. What fun to begin with all the new bells and whistles that are available today. Neat graphics, better explanations, and more personalization; THIS website give you a much better idea of how we can help YOUR company grow. That’s who we are at Focus, what we stand for, helping our clients reach their full potential.

If YOUR company has partnered with OUR company– look for your name or company name in the testimonials and/or stories we have featured on our new site. Send us an e-mail saying you found it, and just because you said nice things about how we’ve worked together, we’ll send YOU a $25.00 VISA Gift Card! Tell your friends about Focus, have them look at our new site, (YOU know how important traffic is on a new site) and we will put their name in a drawing for a $50.00 gift card. The drawing will be held on Monday, October 2nd and the winners will be announced in our October issue of the Focal Point. Let’s help one another grow.

We Proudly answer for…

The Carroll County Humane Society

When the Carroll County Humane Society came to Focus for help, we weren’t sure we could meet their needs. Their account would require many components such as answering differently for calls coming in during the day verses night, what to do for all kinds of animal emergencies and directing callers to the right government agency for animals. Could we do this and keep it within the budget? We could, we did, and we do! Thank goodness for technology! We have pages of information regarding calls like animals banned as pets, hoarding, animals in distress, how to surrender a pet, concerns about possible rabies, to catching, spaying and neutering feral cats. Our Focus agents know exactly what information to give the caller.

Chief Mark Miller explained, “We are funded by Carroll County, but we do additional fund raising. It’s costly to investigate abuse cases so they can go to court and to care for larger animals. As a “no kill” organization, we’d like to spend more to educate the public, to rescue animals and to send our Mobile Adoption Unit out more often.”

“This is a stressful job.” He continued, “Your agents have been so friendly and sweet! We appreciate everything you do for us!” At Focus, we LOVE answering their calls! Every Humane Society needs help; they are grateful for old towels, bath mats, blankets, winter scarves, knit caps, pet food, play toys, and of course – time and money. Perhaps you can help.

New Business!

Marketing is all about telling stories. It’s a “new thing” that we have been doing since the beginning of advertising. We try to tell stories in our newsletters – because our services are not quite so obvious as others. It takes a story to help people understand that we can have TONS of information about your business (like we do for the Humane Society) or that we keep satisfied clients (and employees) a long time, and that’s to your advantage (as we shared in my President’s letter).

The more of YOUR story you share with us, the better service our agents can provide to your callers, because when we “know” someone, we can speak confidently about them. We have had one customer for years yet we just discovered that they are a three-generation company, like we are. AND that they are one of the most recognized companies in their field, more importantly, they are very focused on giving fantastic customer service. When we know things like that, we’re able to bring their company culture into our conversations with their callers because we know how they want things done.

If you are celebrating a milestone anniversary or have just earned accolades in your industry – let us know. The more knowledgeable we are, the better we can serve you and your callers. AND we can celebrate with you – we are a part of your company, too!

Healthy

Generic drugs are copies of brand-name drugs that have exactly the same dosage, intended use, effects, side effects, route of administration, risks, safety, and strength as the original drug. Their pharmacological effects are exactly the same as those of their brand-name counterparts. Stay healthy and save some money, choose the generic drug if it is available.

Wealthy

Drop Change Into a Jar It may sound crazy, but we sometimes forget that coins carry value. If you have loose change in your wallet or purse, you’re more likely to spend it … or lose it in the depths of your car or couch cushions. By putting your excess daily change into a jar, you’re preventing frivolous spending. And once you have a healthy stash, you can take your coins to the bank and deposit them. More savings!

Wise

If you’re putting the time and effort in—and you have the results to prove your worth—it may be time to ask for a raise. As the saying goes: no risk, no reward. So put yourself out there, and earn a better salary for the job you’ve already done.

Dear Friends,

There is a lot to be said for longevity!

Recently, we were looking back at some old company picnic photos and there were pictures of our two devoted overnight employees and their kids (three for each, all boys.) In December, Mary will celebrate 28 years with Focus, and Rebecca will celebrate her 18th anniversary in January! Ladies and Gentlemen – THEY are the reasons we all sleep so well at night! They are the reasons you rarely get a call that isn’t important during those hours between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM. They know your businesses, and ours, and protect us all!

People sometimes ask – what makes Focus better? Why should I use your service? Longevity and loyalty. Mary and Rebecca are a part of the reason why. Most of our people have been with us a long, long time; 33% for over 20 years and 75 % over 5 years. Our clients stay a long time, too. We opened our doors (or should I say phones) in 1987 and we have customers who have been with us since our very first year!

What loyalty! We thank you all so much! Thank you to our customers and to our employees – employees who have become part of our Focus Family, tied not by blood, but by love and devotion. Thank you to our clients who have become like family. We are so very blessed. Thank you all!

Hugs,
