Up-selling is when you call a person's attention to an item of greater quality (and cost).

Cross-selling is the inbound telemarketing technique used to inform a customer of a
related item that naturally "goes" with the main product.  For instance, a customer
that just made a computer printer purchase may be interested in paper or a spare ink
cartridge.  The additional purchase is made about 30% of the time, a significant
